  1. Mr. I. Briars

So i have spent few years building kits, normally 1/48 tamiya. I fancied a 1/32 kit and this coming it at £35 compared to the highly details taiya at £100+ seemed like a bargain
with the wing assembly and fitting I was sanding bits to make them fit or filling gaps on the fuselage. i got so frustrated that i considered just junking it more than once – especially while trying to fit the wing assembly to the fuselage, so ill fitting I had to sand bits of the fuselage to get the wings to sit snug, which after the glue had set I realsied that it had shifted back a fraction making everything else like the air intake and wing flaps not fit – more sanding! God the amount of tape I used trying to hold things in place and If you want the landing gear down you have to cut the single piece supplied for flight mode into 4 sections but after seeing the flimsey way the wheels were attached I decided aginst this option.
Even more confusing are the decals – you are given two paint options, one contains red stripes which are supplied as decals the other is the black and white banding shown on the box, but for some reason you are expected to paint these on (at 12mm widths) when they could have easiey included these are part of the decals.
Also not the red stipe that seperates the upper green from the bare metal on the nose /fuselage – you dont get any masks, or guidance where this paint line sits on the fuselage so its pure guesswork where to paint the line, although i manged to get this quite accurate.

This is not a kit I would recomend, unless you really want a challenge, personally I will stick to Tamiya and save to but a decent 1/32 kit

  2. Harry Marwick

2017 rebox with extra parts, It’s a simple kit with relatively low part count which builds up into a respective representation of the P51D when completed by and competent or novice model builder.
There are some mould seam lines and flash to contend with but nothing major, the detailing on some parts is rather soft especially around the cockpit area.
I would recommend this kit, but it needs a bit of work.
    Happy Modelling.

  3. Michael Whitworth

A very nice model well made all parts fitted as they should.

  4. Sofaking mad

A top notch model from Revell. I added the Eduard zoom photo etch for a very detailed look. Fuse and wings had very good fit with only very small gaps.

  5. Roy Dearnley

As usual, Revell have produced a great kit for the money, and I was waiting for the P 51D late version with fin fillet to come out. Details around the cockpit and wheel wells are excellent and to a great standard. Not sure if it was my fault, but I had major issues with fitting the wings to the fuselage where there was a quite large step. I think it was that the cockpit was too low, but I aligned everything up according to the instructions. Would be interested if anyone else had the same problem. Other than that, a great kit for the money

  6. Girl&boy01
