  1. Kevin

Received my model from Japan, undamaged and on time, and ready to assemble. Looking forward to building it. Thanks!

  2. Jack

The kit came to me in perfect condition , I’m looking forward to building it. It has good instructions for assembly and as a added bonus they included a tip sheet . The parts came baged in plastic which is good . Nice box with the airplane displayed in different colors for the area it was used in.

  3. Mr GTS

Ottimo prodotto tamiya x gli, appassionati del genere. Il pacco è stato consegnato integro e rapidamente. Attenzione che le istruzioni sono tutte in giapponese, ma sono comunque bene illustrate.

  4. Sean B. Riley

Christmas gift for my son. Happy with purchase

I thought this was a complete model ( die-cast) It was my mistake, but I gave it to my a friend of mine, who gave to her Son to put together.I can no longer build plastic model planes as I did years ago. He did a good job and I helped him to do some of the painting

Very basic kit, typical of early Tamiya 1/48 scale. Very few parts, so this is a quick build. General fit is OK until you join the wings to the fuselage; big problem there I’m afraid. It needs a lot of filing and sanding to sort out. The decals are awful; way too thick and no matter how much Micro Sol is used, they won’t sink onto the surface detail. Luckily, I had plenty of spares from Eduard kits to use. Overall, an OK kit I guess, but it’s not accurate as Tamiya have very lazily taken them from a FW 190 kit A3 kit, which is completely wrong for the Dora. I got this kit for my son to cut his teeth on and ended up having to help him out. Shame, as some of these earlier Tamiya kits are quite decent for new or learning modellers, this one isn’t. If you’re a half decent modeller, simply get the Eduard kit if you want accuracy, detail and decent fit of the parts. Not one of Tamiya’s better kits I’m afraid to say 🙁

    Ottimo come da tradizione tamiya.

  9. bughunter

I was a little concerned when the model arrived with no plastic wrapping but everything was inside the box. Shipping was very fast. Very easy to assemble. I assembled it to look like it was flying(retracted landing gear and cut a circle of clear plastic from a folder and glued it behind the propeller to give it the illusion of a spinning prop)and I have to say it came out very nice. Couldn’t find one of these models in a local hobby store so bought it from here. If you’re looking for this model, I would highly recommend purchasing it from here.

  10. J. Whitaker

Seemed to have bigger gaps between the wings and fuselage.

  11. H.E.

    The butcher bird.

  12. bughunter

This is a molding from the early 90’s. This means it is not quite as nice of a mold as Tamiya’s current new tool kits from the year 2000+. The details are still excellent, but things like the cockpit are just not quite as detailed as most kits are now. It is a Tamiya kit though, so it is very good.
