As a kid my Uncle Paul gave me a tour of his aircraft carrier. I was taken by the Corsair and today it remains my favorite WWII fighter. I love the folded wings and their shape when extended and how it looks in the air. The Tamiya model is so accurate and so detailed. I plan to build two: this one with extended wings and the earlier birdcage with folded. Tamiya models are the best. I’ve built virtually all the 1/6 motorcycle series including my favorite, the BMW R90S. Now I’m working my way through the 1/32 aircraft series of WWII aircraft.Eventually I’m sure I’ll get to more modern fighters but to me they just don’t have the romance of the old propeller planes, kinda like comparing a ’57 Chevy to any 2021 automobile which looks just like the next 2021 except for the Mazda Miata. Anybody know of a good model of the original 1990?

C’est un peu désagréable d’être obligé de commander de la couleur et se n’était pas notifier dans le descriptif de la maquette.

Das Produkt ist bei der 2. Lieferung makellos! Aber die erste Lieferung war schlicht eine Frechheit. Der Inhalt war komplett gemischt mit irgendwelchen falschen Teilen und natürlich unvollständig. Deshalb Achtung bei Lieferung immer sofort kontrollieren!
Jetzt zum Bausatz selbst, der ist in gewohnter Qualität sehr gut! Die Gußteile im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz fehlerfrei und fast sofort zu verwenden.
Begeistert! Der Stern Abzug ist rein der falschen Lieferung von Amazon geschuldet, dass darf einfach nicht vorkommen!

コルセアは地味なマーキングが多いのですが模型映えする部隊をちゃんと入れてくれました。タミヤ模型の表面処理は本当に素晴らしく作る前から良い作品が出来ることを約束してくれます。結構な部品数ですが面倒な処理がほぼ必要ないのと追加工作もアンテナ線くらいしかしていないのでひと月足らずで完成しました。少々値は張りますが見合った以上の価値があります。私は今回自分へのクリスマスプレゼントにしました。塗装指示がスプレー缶なので筆塗り派の方へ参考までに。
私の作品はクレオスの水性ホビーカラーのネイビーブルーと艶消し白を半々くらいでベタ塗り。その後その色と艶消し青を半々くらいで桁を塗り残すように中を塗りました。薄め液多めが良いでしょう。先にイエローグリーンでボサボサ筆でのチッピング、その上にシルバーチッピング。墨入れはエナメルの白で行いました。埃を被っている写真が多かったのでクレオスウェザリングカラーのサンディーウォッシュを薄く胴体の上に、同じくステインブラウンでキャノピー前のオイル口周りや下面を汚します。タミヤウェザリングマスターのBセット3色全て使って排気汚れを付けました。白多めです。トップコートは半光沢にしました。飛んでいる写真はアプリでスタンドを消してます。

I built two of this exact model and both had the same problem. Rubber wheels grip the surface you are working on so the slightest nudge will snap the gear strut. Once broken you can re-attach but the joint is weaker than before the break unless you use a crazy glue. Plastic glue re-melts the plastic but is the joint is still weaken. Crazy glue will work but you may need to hold it longer while it sets. Connecting all the engine exhaust pipes to the fuselage can be hectic but stick with it, it is beautiful when done. Not for beginners.

Bought for my husband, Richard Smith, for Christmas and this is his review:
“This is the worst model airplane that I have ever built. The fit of cockpit, engine, fuselage, wing, etc. are terrible. The landing gear collapsed three times. The Tamiya F4U-1D needs a lot of filler. I started building models at 5 years old. I am now 65 years old. I have built models all my life. I’m also an FAA licensed pilot, so I know about airplanes. My wife bought the Tamiya F4U-1D for me as a Christmas present. She paid $150. Do not buy the Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair in 1/32 scale. It’s a waste of your time and money.”

This makes for a STUNNING example of a truly iconic fighter from WWII. If you know what you are doing, & really take your time with the many small details, it makes for a truly beautiful, large airplane model.
In the world of static models, Tamiya has no equal. In the right hands, their models could be considered “museum” quality. You will not be disappointed with this kit if you possess the expertise to build it as it should be. 👍🏻👍🏻
