  1. Amazon Customer

Excellent quality and detail, as usual from Tamiya. All mouldings are very crisp. I would have gave 5* but the pictures on the box show the tank with the Zimmerit coating, which it doesn’t have and needs to be brought separate.

This is the Ultimate Tiger Kit, just as it is not an offering from Dragon and, also, because the Porsche Tiger II was the ultimate Tiger…buy this, and strangers will greet you on the street with a “Whoooaaa”…
    It’s also only 37$…

  3. Roland F. Wiens

Excellent kit every model enthusiast should get!

  4. John

same body as Henschel tiger, early turret is different. good to add to collection.

  5. Stephanie Araneta

Gave only three stars because the rubber tracks where too short and where really stretched when applied. Had to redo the drive wheels because they came off during the application. The tracks should lay on top of the wheels, but didn’t. I could have used some of the tracks provided for extra armor and made it look more accurate, but I didn’t think of that till later and didn’t want to ruin anything more by taking things apart. I used the side panels provided to cover the tracks. Also, the extra armor zimmerit(spelling) application looks cool, but my skill is not that advanced, so I built the model without.

  6. MARIA JESUS BERNA

Senza il foglio di zimmerit corrispondente si ha un tiger 2 mediocre x il valore della storia!

  7. 1spearhead tanker

lots of parts, lots of sub-assemblies,….but once built….very happy with it. would have been nice to have a metal barrel, but got one from local hobbie store….used an Alliance Model Works stencil for the camo….works and looks great!!!

  8. Skibone

Delivery was excellent, haven’t built it yet. Inspected the parts and all look good, no flashings on the molded parts

  9. LM

    Good detailed product

  10. blkaja

nice detail. Need the Tamiya zimmerit sheet to finish.

  11. Michael Paul Piscopo

EL TAMAÑO DE LA CAJA DE LA MAQUETA ES GRANDE, LO QUE HACE QUE LAS PIEZAS NO VAYAN PRESIONADAS Y ASÍ SE EVITAN ROTURAS, VIENE PRECINTADA, LO QUE EVITA LA PÉRDIDA DE PIEZAS. LAS MEDIDAS DE LA CAJA SON: 6 X 24,5 X 38,5 CM. BIEN Y CÓMODAMENTE EMBALADA PARA EVITAR DESPERFECTOS. MUY CONTENTOS. TODO PERFECTO

  12. Charles Harper

Everything went together as it should, looks great.

Perhaps the “best looking” AFV of the War and I am nonetheless long overdue in completing one for myself. I’ve finished approx. 20 kits over the past 2.5 years, but somehow omitted this lovely beast until now. Ironically, I purchased a Tacom Porsche Tiger kit with full interior and although the detail was truly excellent, the part fit was horrendous. Very disappointing since I spent countless hours building it and the price was roughly double that of this Tamiya offering.

Long story short, I was so disappointed with the end result of the Takom kit, I purchased this Tamiya model and cannibalized the engine deck photo etch screens and the single piece gun barrel. Otherwise, my kit is pure Tamiya straight from the box.

After my usual photographic research process, I went with the Camo scheme above and naturally envisioned this as a tank that served on the Normandy front in July/August 1944. Nato black air brushed base with white undertones to give the dark yellow on top the desired “shadow” effect. air I then air brushed the Red Brown & Nato Green stripes.

I did NOT go with an overall wash as I liked the camo colors “as is”, but I did apply some artist oils for color modulation and of course pin wash with Tamiya panel liner to bring out the details. I then did dark/light chipping effects in various areas, dry brushed with Buff and then finalized it with a air brush mist using Buff as well as I wanted a Summer/Dusty look on this tank. Tracks & chassis undercarriage was enhanced with Light Sienna dust pigments and sealed with dark yellow wash. This kit is roughly 95% complete as I will likely add some foliage a few bits of personnel equipment at a later date.

My only complaint (and it does not warrant a deduction in rating) was that the kit did not include the “wire” for the light on the front of the tank. I will also add this later by pulling from the other kit.

    Great deal. Buy it.

Edit – 10.31.2019: I was never satisfied with the result of my original camo scheme so I decided to re-shoot and go with a lighter (more Summer versus Fall) scheme.

Edit – 12.06.2019: Well, I was still dissatisfied so just before Thanksgiving, I gave it one more “go” and opted for a winter scheme – which serves to hide numerous errors and I was eager to try out my new streaking rust enamel. I’m finally satisfied enough to leave it here.
