  1. Emma Cox

Fairly straightforward to put together. This was one of my first models that I assembled and I had great luck with this one. Nice detail and quality made parts. Good to base to apply paint and detail

  2. Overseer195

I love the look but it would be nice if It could be easier to put together

  3. AJ

Well made and packaged model and the service and shipping were fantastic.

  4. Cameron Moir

    Nice little lighthouse

  5. Carlos

This was perfect for the diorama, and the LED light in the lighthouse works perfectly off a 9v battery. No need for fancy wiring kits. Assembly was easy, need very little glue, came with an abundance of window covering options. A great addition to any seaside diorama.

    Perfect

These are older models and they were tricky to build….nicely detailed great packaging in plastic wrapping….a complement to my track…there Walthers one of the best…I believe there newer kits are easier to build…anyway good stuff

I am building it now..parts fit together well but you do need to trim the nubbies from the casting. Instructions are minimal but then there are not a lot of parts to put together. It doesn’t address the problems of wiring the tracks after installation, nor does it address lighting…what I did was drill a small hole at the rear of the track slot and attach a rail joiner with a pigtail to each rail, then run the wires through the hole. Next, a track bumper will be added (not in the kit) to the end of the track. One thing, when using CA to stick the rail (minus rail ties) into the cast slot, make sure to ‘rough’ up the bottom…CA doesn’t really like smooth metal much. Lighting has not been addressed yet.
Update: when doing the doors, the instructions tell you to put the lintels in first and then the doors..I would suggest, after doing it their way, that the doors should be put into the lintels BEFORE gluing them to the building.. I did it their way and all 6 doors fell out…so now I’m back to putting a piece of plastic on the rear of the hinge area, putting in the doors, and then another small strip of plastic on the front to hold them in…OR, you could just glue them in place…
UPDATE: I gave up and just glued the doors in the open position…at this point I don’t for see a lot of opening/closing in my engine facility… :0)

Nice kit, great to get two houses to build since the build learn curve is halved. These have nice detail and few defects so overall easy to build. If you want to add lights inside be careful to add something to blackout the walls and all seams as the plastic is translucent without.

This came all painted with the transparent plastic windows already fixed on the window frames. You can still repaint it another color or make it look antique but the problem is that you wouldn’t be able to take the plastic windows of the frame unles you do it very meticulously and use hot water and soap. Still the problem would reside to install them back exactly as they were because some parts of theses plastic windows extend beyond the window frame to indent with the walls of the house. And as you may expect these arer very precise, so precise that my wiffe mounted the whole house without glue to be sure that all the parts fit. She will now remove them and solified it with a little glue.

I would have given 5 stars if it weren’t of the way the windows came and leave almost no possibilities to paint the frame a different collor without touching the transparent part.
