    For the price and quality, you can’t beat it. Some things will need sanding, putty and fitting. On other parts of the tank like the 12.7 DsHK on the turret is remarkably detailed and is quite complex. You need to add your own crew.

    Had a nicely written review and it just vanished.

    Tracks are bad. Track tensioners molded to side of hull. Be very careful with lower hull building. You will need to texture the cast parts of the tank as the cast texture is not very dramatic. The white bands for the markings are not provided as decals you will need to paint them.The sponsons will need to be filled with plastic card.

    The verdict. Buy aftermarket barrel, Photo etch, and tracks. Scratchbuild some missing details. Add texture to parts that need it. OR spend a little more and buy a Tamiya or Dragon kit.

    Reccomended for those who dont mind doing some old fashioned modeling and dont mind investing a little extra cash into a kit.

    A nice model, the older Zvezda kits are horrible. Choose the newer ones and they’re first class.

    A very good kit. Plenty of detail, and all parts fit together immaculately. I actually found the tracks in this kit to be quite excellent – previous Zvezda kits have had poorly moulded tracks that don’t fit together well, but on the IS-2 they went together perfectly.

    Top marks. Will definitely buy Zvezda models again.

    this is one of zvezda’s older mouldings and attracts a lot of criticism from some modelers. I enjoyed the build and it is well within the scope of the average modeler to produce a decent representation of the vehicle.there are one or two minor fit issues but nothing insurmountable. i wouldn’t recommend it for an absolute beginner but anyone with three or four models under their belt could tackle it. Like all Zvezda kits it represents great value for money. Instructions are clear and simple to follow.

    poor quality, after 2 really nicely made models from Zvezda ( Tiger I and T-34/75 ) I’m disappointed with this kit, Kit when arrived was packed in a very nice box , everything looked ok but after opening I found some parts broken like if it was forced into the box. This isn’t a problem for me but you probably wouldn’t buy it as a gift. I will be reading the comments on other models more carefully before buying more models from this brand.
