Not too good, the balsa fittings are too soft and liable to break during assembly, otherwise reasonably good.

It is more work than a plastic model, but the parts go together much easier now that they are laser cut. One hint is to attach the tissue with a glue stick. I colored the camouflage with magic markers. Paint would be smoother. A light coat of Krylon clear lacquer is used to finished it off. I haven’t had a chance fly it yet, but there are utube video’s of them flying.

Good kit but not as good as the Keil Kraft version I once built.

  4. Stephen Johnston

5 Stars because I bought this model to practice working with balsa wood with hope that in future I can build my own models from scratch.
This model covers all the basic building techniques, with simple step by step instructions. This is the first time I have used a Paul Guillows product but was so happy with the outcome I have already ordered another model from the same series.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is interesting in balsa models, but please be aware it does involve the use of craft knife and other products that are not included with the kit, so a supervising adult would be required with regards to children making and finishing of this product. I would also advise looking into at the step by step guide into making balsa models on the Paul Guillows website to discover exactly what is required to make and finish this kit if this is the first time you will be making at balsa kit.

  5. Ben

It was a really great airplane. I enjoyed putting it together, but the decals refused to stick and tore apart while drying. I am very disappointed because I enjoy building these models and I wish the decals were not so cheaply made. The plane is five stars otherwise.

Great kit from Guillow’s – updated from die cut to laser cut makes it a better kit as well as from 1/20th (.050) thick to 1/16″ (0625). Built these kits back in the late 1960’s but these are much better than those days, as well as the tissue paper is much better quality. Paired with the new CA adhesives (Zap-a-Gap) they are a great hobby I am glad I got back into.

  7. Schana Donefeld

Accurate cut outs, all fit well EXCEPT that the wing was too wide to fit into the body cavity, so I had to cut away a small section with a micro circular saw. Other than that, everything fit well. It looks really nice, but it does not fly well. It wants to flip over and then dive into the ground. Strange…I have not had this issue with my other planes. Still, a nice model. It’s a little smaller…the fuselage is really tiny compared to others from the same series.

Not for people like me with chubby fingers lol.I just bought a pair of tweezers.Fantastic balsa plane I used to make these years ago.quick delivery and awesome plane

  9. Chucho Had’ez

Fantastic. Shipped from USA for cheaper than I could buy here! Arrived on time – unbroken! – and this is balsa wood!! Brilliant

  10. Gerald B.

Did like everything about kit. Easy build for me.Model building for years ,RC BOATS,AIRPLANES CARS. Not for the young to start with.

  11. Holly Dominguez

Amazing kit, but it was shipped in a bag instead of a box. Now the plastic cowling is incredibly dented and is permanently damaged. The canopy was also slightly dented but besides that everything else was fine. I’m sure after I paint the cowling, the damage wont be noticeable besides a dent and hole left over after trying my best to fix the cowling.

  12. John Shepley

This price was reasonable, several con artists are trying to sell for $40-50 should be around $10 or less. Instructions are terrible, but one can work through with patience.

  13. Sandbed

Liked the precision laser cut parts. They are much better than die-cut parts. No crushed edges. Parts fit together very well.
The plans were a little vague when installing stringers on the fuselage. I was disappointed that wire was not provided for the landing gear.
