I wasn’t impressed with the quality but the price made-up for it.the plastic parts could. Have been better quality the balsa wood was very good.

It’s pretty early to be reviewing the kit, because I’m only about 1/2 built. The parts all seem to be there and the directions are extensive, if not always clear to an old guy who hasn’t built a stick plane in 30 or 40 years. Having a great time!

Good quality

The large scale of this kit makes it easer to build as I have slight tremors in my hands. The design and fit is good. I didn’t like the flimsy Ness of some of the vacume blown plastic parts. I did have fun building my own landing gear out of spare plumbing parts. I also bought aftermarket wheels and props (fairly inexpensive). Finished model looks great. As I built it for display only, I laminated the fuselage to smooth it out.

Super excited to build this! The model is die crush, not laser cut. The balsa wood quality seems ok, However it could be better. Plastic parts look fine. Overall it looks solid. For those who don’t know or have had built this model before, some parts have been removed because they are simply outdated.

Probably will be a kit i’ll have to take my time with but it’s a quality product with lots and lots of detail. I’m looking forward to starting.

this is not for beginners. lots of plastic parts though they are necessary to achieve the look of the plane. the instructions are sometimes not at all clear though there is an online place with pictures of construction for some clarification. the look of the constructed body pieces is impressive.

First of all I would recommend 3/32 stringers for this airplane!
2nd – the plastic pieces that cover the wings do not fit!
3rd – setting up the cockpit for the pilot is not pleasent!
4th – Stamping out the knotches by machine tends to make them way too big for 1/l6 stringers.
I have allready completed the C-47, B-25, B-24 and the three F-15, F-16 and F-18 and they were fun to build – the P-38
was pain in the butt.
I am now working on a B-17 and it is going well.
I am 80 years old now and my father and brother were fond of airplanes and made many models. Its just a hobby for
me and I most often give them away. I’ve tried other folks and Guillows is the best (except for the P-38).
