Very cool when complete, but it’s not close to Tamiya quality. Fitting issues and a decent amount of filling and modifications required. Full engine components included if you want the option of separating airframe to display engine. Options for pylon ordinance and centerline and/or wing tanks. Decent rivet lines and recessed panel lines. Aires makes an aftermarket cockpit kit including more detail. Landing gear wobbly, also recommend after market set.

Clear parts fit well also. Package arrived on time in good shape.

Although this builds into a very good looking finished kit there are a LOT of unnecessary and tedious parts and steps to go through. For instance.. you have to build the engine (it’s required for mounting the rear portion of the fuselage) but you can’t see it at all when the kit is completed. Also lots of very small and fragile parts to break or lose. It’s not a bad kit but it requires some experience and patience.

The Republic F-105D was one of the major aircraft used during the Vietnam war. I was introduced to this model using Scalemates reviews. This 1/48 scale has several features not found in other brands. If you want an accurate detailed model this is the one to choose.
