This kit of the Spitfire Mk. Vb is just about flawless. The model appears accurate, with great surface detail and fine recessed panel lines.
The design is well-engineered and thought-out. The parts are molded near-perfectly, and fit together with little or no filler required. The complex curve at the wing root did not have any fit issues.
You can build this kit with regular rounded wingtips, or the clipped wing version. There are also two canopy options.
The kit comes with three decal options, one of which is squadron letters “SN-M”. There is a photo of this aircraft in flight, on page 16 of the Squadron Signal “Spitfire in Action” book. The weathering on the front right half of the fuselage is visible in that picture, and can be duplicated on your model with the kit decals.
This kit goes together so well that you will be painting and weathering in no time. It was truly a joy to build.
